Coving the corners
VW had been in touch to apologise for not pointing out the saw-toothing on the tyres, they’d also acknowledged that the economy problem may not have been down to the weather or my choice of petrol so they invited me over again for a further lookie.
So up early again, a quick breakfast and a drive over to Darlington. A short wait and it turned out that they’d found a potential problem with a part of the DPF system. Told them…..
On the way back it was a B&Q visit to purchase more insulation, a trip to Homebase from some fresh coving and after a long chat with a chap from the RSPB who was touting his wares by the Homebase exit, nice chap. I then headed over to Screwfix for some bits I’d ordered earlier and then it was back to the house.

I set the fire, made some lunch got my washing in and after shifting all my tools from the large room to the small room I started on the coving in the large bedroom.
I’d perfected the method now, work on the corners first before filling in the gaps. Use thread over nails to get the joining panels dead straight and use coving adhesive instead of the gun based adhesives.
I managed to do all the corners and cove around the fireplace but I then ran out of adhesive so I carried on with sanding the ceiling and doing a bit of painting.
Not a bad day.
