More bathroom stripping
Big Screwfix pickup on Friday
Had an earlyish night so I got up earlyish before my alarm clock went off.
Started at 8:20 getting some chores done, started the washing and emptied the dishwasher.
Started stripping more wallpaper – had to teeter on a ladder on chipboard as the floor was still not finished – before nine and by around eleven it was finished.
Tidied the paper away and moved all my tools out of the room.
Started on the drains, I really didn’t want to do this but I had to bite the bullet.
Put the bath and new taps in place and marked them out on the floor, figured out and marked the holes.
Stripped back two rows of boards
Cut out two holes and an access panel
Fitted flexi connections 40 to 32 mm converter, low level trap.
Refitted one board to test out
Next the shower and basin wastes

A bit more complex – missing a flexi connection so I couldn’t replace all the boards until I had it
Fitted wood to the side of the door
Filled a hole near the pipework, made a frame and cannibalised some wood to cover it
Watched the second half of the England Russia match
PVA’d all the holes
Realised strip of wood was a mistake and I’d have to make a second skin wall
Thicker PVA into holes
Applied bonding plaster as PVA was tacky
Did hole in ceiling downstairs
Painted behind WC to stop stains coming through
Writing this up now and it’s 12:50am
Sunday
Didn’t get to bed until 1:40am
Alarm for 8:30am
Battery low beeeeeeeeeeeeeep thought it was the burglar alarm
Ignored then got up at 7:00
Tried to fix it found it was a monoxide/smoke detector
Breakfast
Some washing and stuff
Moved chair for electrician
Dismantled old switch
Into attic drilling
New pull switch in place
