Snowing in March
Got up this morning and it was snowing.
Hang on it’s spring.
It’s the 22nd March 2014 and it’s snowing.
Lovely….
Decided to clean all the masking tape from the open fire in the living room that had been making it look rather untidy.
Spent ages chipping at it with a paint scraper for ages with some cleaning spray and was just about to give up when I had a brainwave to use the cellulose thinners on the job.
Cellulose thinners I hear you call. Well…… I’d bought some cellulose thinners some months back as I had a problem with my sticky Kef Eggs, sticky Kef Eggs I hear… nevermind…. my Kef Eggs are small satellite speakers that have a rather slick rubbery black finish and on removing them from storage they’d gone uber-tacky. Checking on the internet this seemed to be a very common problem and the only remedy was to use lots of elbow grease and cellulose thinner to remove the sticky problem. This I’d done a number of months back, it took me hours and I got rather high doing it too, thinners being rather intoxicating in unventilated rooms.
Anyway it struck me that the tackiness of the tape was somewhat like the stickiness of the speakers so I set about the fire with gusto and hey presto an hour or so later a lovely tape free fire.
Struck up the fire and again a large amount of smoke in the house…..
Looking around for the source and it seems to be in the attic and coming from under the floorboards in the room where I’m currently sleeping. Not good, one job down, two new ones to replace it.
