Mercy me – Sky being efficient
Just had Sky on the phone.
Amanda was fielding the call rather than Andy and she’d phoned not realising that the BT engineer had finished the job on getting me up and running on Sky.
I informed her what had gone on and that I now had broadband but it was running at the speeds it had been prior to the line going down.
Amanda was great but what she could do was limited and after a bit of testing we were back at the test it in the early hours of the morning and send us the results stage.
So I have to go to:
http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com
Run a speed test at six in the morning and then hopefully get a really awful result and get in touch with Sky, seems to me that 4Mb/sec at my router becomes a fraction of a Mb once there is “congestion” on the line.
I did get some good news though, Sky were going to buy more bandwidth off BT in mid-April to stop this problem and that there was a likelihood of fibre in my exchange in June.
Thank mercy me….
